Skills Used: Project Management, Maintenance and Repair, Mechanical Design
Project Dates: Summer 2019
Additional Documentation Available: No, report stayed with NV Energy

Project Description:
During my time with NV Energy, I was tasked with doing a plant-wide piping and support inspection. Most everyone that worked there had been there a long time and thought a fresh set of eyes would be good to go through the plant and identify areas of concern. I was to create a report documenting all my findings and additionally report anything I thought as an immediate danger at the time of finding to engineering and maintenance.
Project Results:
This project took me a couple of weeks to complete as there are probably thousands of miles of piping in a power plant with 8 operating generators. During the inspection I found over one hundred different areas of concern, at least 1 of which was considered an emergency and repair began within minutes of my finding it. I also learned a lot about how large piping installations are constructed and movement is handled, as well as what is a real problem and what is not.
